Why It Happens
A bowl that won't lock usually has ice or residue on the locking ring, is overfilled past MAX (the frozen base expands), or the lid is misaligned. A stuck bowl after processing is caused by condensation freezing between bowl and machine.
How to Fix It
- Check the locking ring and machine seat: wipe off any ice or residue with a warm damp cloth.
- If the frozen base rises above MAX (expansion dome), let it soften 10 minutes at room temperature.
- Align the lid arrows exactly before twisting — force breaks the tabs.
- For a stuck bowl: wait 5 minutes, the residual heat from the motor releases it. Never pull hard.
How to Prevent It
- Fill to MAX line, never above — the base expands 5-8% when freezing.
- Dry the bowl exterior before inserting it in the machine.
- Freeze with the lid ON but not overtight.
- Clean the machine seat weekly with a dry cloth.
